Critical Biology exists to open the life sciences to creative practice. We believe biology is not only a field of study but a medium. One that artists, researchers, and the curious can work alongside to ask new questions, imagine new futures, and make new things.
Our laboratory provides the space, equipment, training, and community for anyone to pursue projects at the intersection of art and the life sciences: bioart, biomaterials, biofabrication, speculative design, and beyond.
We approach living systems with respect and curiosity. Biosafety, ethical practice, and creative rigor are inseparable here.
